Vaccination time
We brought the little lady to the doctor today for her two month shots. We found out that she is 11 pounds 12 ounces, which puts her above the 50th percentile for weight, we was 23.5 inches long which they say was in the 80th percentile and her hear circumference was 15.5, putting her well in the normal range. Yipee! She was chatty and moving a lot and didn't start to fuss until right before the nurse came in. The nurse, Kim, was a past cheerleader of mine. Too funny. Eleanor did well with her shots. She cried and made that horrible weeping that makes every hair on my body stand up but we had some wonderful nummies and some tylenol and she promptly passed out. She slept most of the rest of the night and woke up squealing with delight at the new day a new girl, vaccinated against some of the bad things in the world. If only we could vaccinate her for other things she might encounter in the future like disappointment or heartache!!

Angry Bat
So, this is one of my favorite pictures of our little one when she is brand new. She looks thoroughly perturbed at being removed from her warm space. She tumbled into this world at 1:40am on July 2nd, 2009. After what can only be described as a textbook labor, her delivery was less than routine. 15 minutes of panic, an extra boost of the epidural and a strange sensation of not being able to feel myself breathe our little lady arrived, looking perfect and sweet. She is amazing.
The hospital stay was unremarkable. A little bout of jaundice brought some concern and an irrational response from me but other than that we went home as a new family on Sunday the 5th. We did spend a great 4th of July looking out of our hospital window, watching the firework displays from lakeville, farmington and burnsville. What a great way to celebrate despite being in the hospital. Take out, desert and our new little sparkler.
Laughing at myself
So.....I laughed at people who had blogs for their children but I have found it impossible to keep up with everyone about how our little lady is doing. I know nothing about blogging so this is an experiment. I will do my best to post pictures and little video clips of our girl as she grows and our adventures as a family. I hope I am not one of those annoying parents. Someone please tell me if I am.
